On October 21, Pink Jams! hosted “Pink rocks the runway” to raise awareness and funds to help women under 40 beat breast cancer.
Atrium in Ronald Reagan Building was filled with colorful lights, dressed up crowd and live music by “Charm City Devils”. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were all around to heat up the anticipation.
Fourteen young survivors “strut their stuff” on the runway, rocking pink outfits specifically made for this event by DC local designers. After each model in pink owned it, “Pink tie guy” took the shift diluting femininity with masculinity. Finally, so anxiously awaited Christian Siriano‘s collection hit the runway. Fourth season “Project runway” winner Siriano brought to his hometown his whole Spring-Summer 2012 collection (over 30 outfits!). He wowed the crowd with polished corals and lime greens, as well as ruffled neutrals. His lavished, never restrained or modest looks are now recognizable and loved throughout the country.
As a conclusion of the event, Pink Jams!’ President Christa Floresca, flanked by Siriano and Doughty, presented a check for 30 thousand dollars to former First Lady of Washington, DC, Michelle Cross Fenty, for the Capital Breast Care Center.
Guests completed themselves with generously filled swags and lanced to official afterparty at Hard Rock Cafe.
Pink Jams! intrigued everybody by promising not less exciting program for 2012, and there is no reason not to believe them!
