Project Fundway named the winners!

On Thursday night, The Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce hosted Second  Annual Project FUNDway Fashion Design Competition. For such promising and exciting event you can’t choose a better location than regal and sublime historic Warner Theater.

In this bouncy economy, it is important to support young emerging talents, and this is what Project Fundway does. It assists young men and women, who demonstrated outstanding academical achievements, to FUND their way towards brighter future as fashion designers.

Four finalists had to be scored by very distinguished judge panel, in order to compete for scholarships. Guest judges were:

Aba Bonney Kwawu of  The Aba Agency;
Stacie Turner – cast member of Real Housewives of DC;
Surae Chin, WUSA 9, Anchor Reporter;
Katy Adams of Yeas & Nays;
Kara Allan of Style for Hire, DC;
Janice Wallace –  The Capital Fashionista;
Linda Lee –  VCU Fashion Design Professor;
Jewell Green, Founder of POSH Boutique and wife of Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrell Green;
Maurisa Potts of Spotted MP;
L’Shandi of L’Shandi Designs;
Ryan Charchanian of Rein Online

After fashion shows competitors had to offer, scholarship winners have been announced:

$3000 FEDEX Scholarship: Angela Robinson of West Potomac Academy;
$1000 Bruno Mazli Scholaship: Agata Miczek of Virginia Commonwealth University;
$500 Downtown Silver Springs Scholarship: Daniel Herbick of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School;
$250 Honorary Fashion Judge Scholarship: Kim Truong of Virginia Commonwealth University.
