Saks sprinkles events around to celebrate spring!

30 Mar

by Yulia Mikhalchuk

If you are not there yet, you are definitely going to. This weekend and further Saks Fifth Avenue in Tysons Galleria is bursting with amazing and fun events you don’t want to miss!

First, Rebecca Minkoff representative will be there to help you spruce up your style for spring! Look at the picture, I’m in awe: combining peach, pink, tangerine and cherry? Seriously? Finally, mixing unmixables is in fashion. It widens horizons and forgives more. If before some elements of your wardrobe just didn’t go together, now it’s time! Be your own “mixologist”! Come Saturday, March 31 from noon to 2.

Get an exclusive gift when you spend $250 or more on women’s contemporary (which is easy!) – Rebecca Taylor scarf, wow! Till Sunday, April 1 (and it’s not a joke)

No worries gifts are not for women only! Marc Jacobs’ pocket square for those spent $250 and over in men’s design lab. Till Sunday, April 1

View a special presentation of the Chopard Spring 2012 collection, till Saturday, March 31, noon to 5

Finally, a desirable “dessert” – Lafayete 148 New York’s representative coming to Saks to help you find your style for spring. Saturday, March 31 from 11 to 2, presentation promptly at 11:30

Enjoy your fashionable weekend!

Fashion Star – round 2!

21 Mar

by Yulia Mikhalchuk

Second episode of “Fashion Star” just finished and as usual, you can already shop for winning garments!

Have to note, I am sad for Ross (would love to have all his jackets especially pink plaid! so what the fabric it’s too thick – it can wait till fall!) and Orly with her cream dress with lace detailing on the bottom. Would wear that in a wink. Crossing fingers for them both next week!

Oscar should reconsider his profession, he would really do well as a stand up comedian (well, and do a part-time tailoring for night clubs). Although I have to admit, if not for him, there wouldn’t be much color on this show. Oh well, except for that turquoise tunic with a mouth on the back. What is it with designers who don’t know much about gravitation? If the garment is made of light fabric and has horizontal slits… what do they think will happen?

Ok enough about sadness! Here are the pictures and links where you can buy the winners!

First, plaid shift dress by Kara Laricks for $325.00 in Saks Fifth Avenue (available online now, will be available in stores Wednesday morning). Congratulations to Kara on jumping from “No offer”-s to a bidding war between buyers! She landed at $100,000.00 offer from Saks!

Second, amazing shirts by Nzimiro Oputa for $70.00 in Macy’s – available in stripes and white

Also in Macy’s, my favorite items of this week, dresses by Lisa Vian Hunter for $99.00 (available in pink and black&white)

Last, but not least, trousers by Sarah in H&M for just $19.95 (in blue and in white)

Happy shopping to you! And don’t forget to tune in for live web chat on NBC Washington next Tuesday at 10 p.m.!  The one from today is available to read HERE.

Neutrals and subtle colors, nothing edgy, all very classy and feminine, as it always happened under Tahari brand. Sangrias and delicious fingerfoods were riding trays all around, shopping was active, and somebody won a clutch in a raffle!

23 Oct

by Yulia Mikhalchuk

Four levels of Saks Fifth Avenue Chevy Chase were buzzled up on October 20. Once again SFA and Suburban Hospital combined their resources in fight against women’s cancers. Twelve Survivor Honorees were in attendance and paid tribute for.

At the entrance, you might buy raffle “keys” ($50 each or three for $100) and then get a chance to open (if it fits!) the treasure chest with fabulous prizes.

About 20 restaurants and caterers presented their creations for guests to enjoy, and feast seemed to never end.

Key Photo Memories had never rested, and beautiful models in Saks up-to-date outfits were roaming around for you to rest eyes on.

Special Key To The Cure t-shirts (long sleeved) designed by Elie Tahari were available for sale on each level. If you did not have a chance to do it then, you still can purchase it online right here.

Enjoy some pictures and don’t forget to visit whole gallery of 74.

Jimmy Choo celebrates new fragrance

14 Feb

by Yulia Mikhalchuk

On Saturday, 12, right on Lincoln’s Birthday, Jimmy Choo of Saks Fifth Avenue in Tysons Galleria hosted a champagne reception to celebrate new perfume as well as the Jimmy Choo Crystal Anniversary Collection. Every guest could enjoy some bubble drinks while shopping, and get very pretty aroma sample in pink with bag or shoes purchase. Perfect choice for those who doesn’t want to go too sweet or too “oceany” – it’s a balanced combination of both.

Stay tuned for more events as Tysons Galleria is a master of throwing parties, big and small.
