13 Oct

by Yulia Mikhalchuk

The Congressional Black Caucus hosted a special event , commemorating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, on October 11, in Rayburn House Office Building.  The event featured Tigerlily Foundation and the Sister’s Network, Inc.

The luncheon united over hundred women and men, – survivors and supporters of the organizations. Laurie Abraham, Editor At Large of ELLE magazine, served as mistress of ceremonies. Special guest, Congresswoman Donna Christensen, Chair, Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, first took the platform. Also, speakers of the event were: U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson, Founder and CEO of Sisters Network, Inc. Karen E.Jackson, and our very DC own and favorite Maimah Karmo of Tigerlily Foundation.
